Fershawnda Green, Founder and President of Poppin Plates has taken two decades of food service experience and applied it in a way to help emerging entrepreneurs, like herself, successfully succeed in the food service industry. Green has humbly taken on many roles throughout her food service tenure from holding positions as a Chef’s Assistant with the Norwegian Cruise Line, servicing the American Islands, to preparing food for sitting City of Chicago and various Southland area Mayors, Presidential candidates, and other governmental officials. She has a love for learning so she didn’t stop with kitchen “back of the house” knowledge. She enhanced her span by learning the “front of the house” which lead her to managing numerous diverse food service brands throughout the Chicagoland area.
During the past fourteen years her passion has always been to teach culinary students how to win in this industry. In 2018, Green started a Food and Beverage consulting firm that focused on emerging entrepreneurs looking to break into the industry legitimately. After seeing all the struggles her clients were facing, she decided to take her business to the next level by opening a Culinary Incubator in Park Forest, Illinois. Poppin Plates has since opened its doors to over twenty-five new start up food service brands in the South Suburbs and is continuously expanding.
